Baked Bean And Ham Supper For Historic Head Tide Church

Attend a wonderful public baked bean and ham supper at the Alna Fire Station located on Route 218 in Alna on Saturday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m.

The fare also includes a variety of salads and breads; the ever favorite homemade pie auction, and 50/50 raffle.

Funds raised by the supper will be used to paint the steeple on the historic Head Tide Church. The mission of the Old Head Tide Church Committee is to preserve one of Alna's most important historic treasures, built in 1838.

Over the past several years the Committee has funded a number of major restoration projects including putting on a new roof and painting the entire structure, inside and out. Head Tide Church is available for weddings and community events.

This year marks the 175th year since the construction of the local landmark. To celebrate the event, the caretakers of the building, the Friends of the Head Tide Church, plan to have a "birthday party theme" with balloons and a birthday cake at this year's bean supper.
