At the Lincoln

Happenings
We closed our final showing of "The Croods" and "Kon Tiki" has yet to go into wider release (we still intend on showing it), and we had hoped to book "42" for Friday but have yet to confirm.

As of press time, we are unclear as to what we will be playing opening Friday, prior to shutting down for a few days while we get ready for our spring play - and hopefully replace our fire escape at the same time.

So, please visit the website (http://www.atthelincoln.org) and be sure to get our e-blast on Wednesday (as noted below). We hope to have a fun film, along with the couple of concerts, and the final MET broadcast of the season this week. Please come and enjoy.

Abbado Conducts Mahler and Beethoven
Claudio Abbado conducts the Lucerne Festival Orchestra in a program featuring Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5. Another highlight of this live-recording is the interpretation of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 together with Abbado's partner in music of many years' standing and one of the world's leading pianist, Maurizio Pollini. Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m.

The Met Live in HD: Handel's 'Giulio Cesare'
The opera that conquered London in Handel's time comes to the Met in David McVicar's lively production. The world's leading countertenor, David Daniels, sings the title role opposite Natalie Dessay as an irresistibly exotic Cleopatra. Baroque specialist Harry Bicket conducts on Saturday, April 27 at noon. (Please note the earlier than usual start time.)

Lincoln Academy Wind Ensemble and Concert Band - spring band concert
Lincoln Academy Wind Ensemble and Concert Band Spring Concert featuring works by Gustav Holst, Percy Grainger, Richard Saucedo and Frank Erickson will be performed Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Volunteers
Lincoln Theater is seeking volunteers to help out in the office on weekday afternoons. Interested folks are invited to email volunteer Muffy Myles (muffymyles@aol.com) for additional information.

Coming soon
LCCT is pleased to present the Maine premiere of "Motherhood Out Loud," opening Mother's Day Weekend. Five actors play multiple roles in a piece written by several contemporary American writers. What Mothers really think ... uncensored.

And finally...
Information on all theater events, including the up to date calendar, can be found on the theater's website, http://www.atthelincoln.org or by calling the theater's box office at 563-3424.

The box office is open Tuesday to Friday, 1 to 5 p.m., and one hour before curtain for each show. Please be sure to sign up for our weekly e-blast on Monday when a listing of what is playing for the week at Lincoln Theater is released. To sign up, just send an email to info@atthelincoln.org and never miss a performance at the theater. The Lincoln Theater is located at 2 Theater St., in downtown Damariscotta.
