Burnadeen A. Doak
May 20, 1926 - June 12, 2013

Burnadeen A. Doak, 87, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on June 12. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Jersey City, N.J. to Joseph and Mary Kusbriu Bonk.

Burnadeen immersed herself in the Boothbay community through volunteer work with the Humane Society Thrift Shop, as well as the St. Andrews Hospital Thrift Store. Along with her volunteer service, she was a major contributor to the Boothbay Harbor Methodist Church. Some of her favorite times were spent at the YMCA, especially with the fitness groups. She loved being part of the fitness group, and the social aspect it brought to her life.

Burnadeen had a love of literature, most notably poetry. When it came to cooking, she was quite adventurous. She developed her own style and loved experimenting, usually with fantastic results.

She loved to stay busy puttering around the house and took great pride in her home.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Doak; daughter, Angela L. Doak; and siblings, Joseph, Paul, Pat, and Julia.

Survivors include children, Callan R. Doak of San Francisco, Cal., Damon R. Doak and wife Diane of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Leslie A. Doak of San Diego, Cal., and Gordon B. Doak and wife Sharon of North Liberty, Ia.; grandchildren, Joy, Jenny, John, Austin, and Alison; special friend, Ginny Hutchins; and many nieces and nephews.
