Waldoboro Police arrested Charles Scavetta, 22, of Newcastle, on the morning of July 20. Scavetta was charged with gross sexual assault and assault and released on $2000 unsecured bail later the same morning.

DOT Ready To Commence Roadside Spraying In Lincoln County

The Maine Department of Transportation (DOT) began its annual brush-control program July 6, spraying herbicides along roads throughout Maine, including roads in most Lincoln County towns.

The DOT will spray roads in every Lincoln County town except Southport, Monhegan Island Plantation and Hibbert's Gore.

In an impressive tour de force of lobster roll making, the owners of Larson's Lunchbox served up 207 lobster rolls during a fundraiser for the Ecumenical Food Pantry July 14. Billy, Barbara "Barb" and son Eli Ganem raised $1120 in lobster roll sales and small donations at their Main St. storefront.
