Damariscotta Police Department reports the following activity:

Complaints and investigations
April 9, Officer Jacob Grinnell responded to Salt Bay Drive on a report of suspicious activity.

April 10, Deputy Chief, Chad Andrews responded to Mid Coast Road to assist a citizen with a problem they were having with an ex-wife. A trespass order was served on the subject.

April 11, Officer Michael Elwell responded to a residence on School Street on a report of a burglar alarm; and conducted a welfare check on a person at Pond Circle.

Officer Richard Alexander took a complaint of Criminal Mischief on the Biscay Road; and conducted a welfare check at High Meadow Apartments.

April 12, Officer Jason Warlick responded to Miles Memorial Hospital on a report of a psychiatric patient who had left the hospital on foot.

Officer Jason Warlick and Officer Richard Alexander responded to Miles Memorial Hospital on a report of a patient attempting to leave the emergency room.

April 13, Officer Jacob Grinnell responded to Route 1 on a report of an erratic operation.

Officer Jacob Grinnell responded to the Heater Road on a report of someone tearing up the road. He verbally warned the person for trespassing; and responded to Meadow Court, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

Officer Jason Warlick took a report of negotiating a worthless instrument; responded to Main Street, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency; and responded to Subway on a juvenile problem; and conducted a welfare check on Long Lane.

Officer Michael Elwell was on duty at the Y.M.C.A. dance.

Officer Richard Alexander and Officer Jason Warlick conducted a welfare check on Birch Lane.

April 14, Officer Devin Polizzotti assisted Miles Memorial Hospital with a patient; took possession of found property.

Officer Jason Warlick and Officer Mark Doe responded to Route 1 on a report of a dog running loose.

Officer Jason Warlick responded to Mid Coast Road on a report of an out-of-control juvenile; responded to Hutchings Lane on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Officer Richard Alexander conducted a pedestrian check on a subject at the intersection of Main and School Street; and responded to Branch Road on a firework's complaint.

April 15, Officer Devin Polizzotti responded to Main Street to conduct a pedestrian check on a subject; responded to Route 1 on a report of an erratic operation; responded to the intersection of Church and Hodgdon Street for a traffic hazard; and responded to the Bristol Road on a report of an erratic operation.

Officer Jason Warlick responded, along with CLC Ambulance, to Church Street on a report of a medical emergency.

Arrests and summonses
April 9, Jessica L. York, 35, of Damariscotta, was summoned for inspected violation.

Nichole L. Brackett, 27 of Newcastle was summoned for operating after suspension.

John D. Dow, 27 of Nobleboro was summoned for a vehicle inspection violation.

April 11, Ryan R. Boucher was summoned for a vehicle inspection violation.

Victor U. Ames, 80, of Thomaston, was summoned for improper passing.

April 13, Dwayne A. Plummer, 50, of Bristol, was summoned for operating after suspension.

Samuel Jon Margaritis, 18 of N. Grosvenordale, Conn. was summoned for speeding.

A juvenile was summoned for assault.

Accidents
April 11, Officer Michael Elwell responded to Main Street on a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident involving Robert J. Gerrard, 59, of Newcastle, who was operating a 2000 Jeep and Jennifer J. Eastman, 33, of Westbrook, who was operating a 2012 Dodge. Gerrard was stopped at Theatre Street. Eastman was traveling northbound on Main Street. Gerrard pulled out of Theatre Street failing to yield to Eastman and struck the side of her vehicle.

April 11, Officer Richard Alexander responded to the intersection of Church and Hodgdon Street on a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident involving Reece E. Demmons, 20, of Bristol, operating a 1994 Saturn. Demmons was on Church Street when his brakes gave out and he hit the guardrail to avoid a pedestrian.

April 12, Deputy Chief, Chad Andrews responded to Main Street for a two-car motor vehicle accident involving Brittany Thornton, of Damariscotta, who was operating a 2004 Hyundai and Natasha V. Cosgrove, 24, of Damariscotta, who was operating a 2004 Subaru. Cosgrove reported that her vehicle was struck by Thornton's vehicle.

April 14, Officer Devin Polizzotti responded to School Street for a car/dog accident. Richard H. Miller, 76, of Bristol, was traveling southbound on School Street when a dog ran in front of him. He tried to stop, but was unable to avoid the dog and struck and killed him.

Damariscotta Police Department responded to 180 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, and more, during this one-week period of time.
