Lincoln County Sheriff's Report

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On May 14, Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted by Det. Scott Hayden, took a report of a burglary in the Whitefield area. This case is currently under investigation.

On May 19, Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner took a report of a theft in the South Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime during the winter, someone(s) stole a cord of cut and split firewood from his property (value: $220). Further investigation to follow if leads develop.

Recent summonses
May 15, Robert F. Labelle, 44, of Whitefield was issued a uniform summons and complaint for criminal speeding, 30 plus mph over speed limit, on River Road, Newcastle, by Sgt. Jason Nein.

Recent arrests
May 18, Luis Lassu, 43, of Bristol was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Beach Loop Road, Bristol, by Deputy Matthew Day.

May 19, Tracy Emerson, 46, of Boothbay was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Justin Drake.

May 19, William B. Weaver, 26, of Nobleboro turned himself in at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, on an outstanding warrant for violation of bail conditions and was arrested by Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward.

Recent accidents
On May 14, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Smith Climo, 58, of Southport Island. Climo was operating his 2004 Toyota Prius northbound when his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. When Climo over corrected, his vehicle went off the left side of the roadway before rolling over and coming to rest against a tree. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.

On May 15, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Newcastle involving Steven G. Kempel, 65, of Douglasville, Ga. and James A. Hall, 68, of Damariscotta. Kempel was backing his 1999 Chevrolet Silverado from a parked position. Hall's 2000 Ford Crown Victoria was parked and unoccupied. Kempel's view of Hall's vehicle was obstructed by a delivery truck and he struck it. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.

On May 15, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Cadisen D. Willis, 18, of Warren. Willis was operating his 1997 Ford Mustang eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet road surface and travelled off the roadway. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.

On May 15, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Thomas A. Townsend, 52, of Jefferson. Townsend was operating his 2000 Plymouth Neon southbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign and travelled directly through the intersection and into a ditch. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.

On May 16, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Lois A. Burnham, 57, of Newcastle and Kelsey R. Howard, 18, of Nobleboro. Burnham was stopped in her 2006 Ford Explorer to make a left turn from Route 1B northbound onto Mills Road intersection. Howard was operating her 2011 Ford Focus southbound on Route 1B. Ms. Burnham failed to see Howard approaching and began a left turn and both vehicles collided in the Route 1B southbound travel lane. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.

On May 17, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Gregory M. Blanchette, 58, of Dresden. Blanchette was operating his 2010 Subaru Forester eastbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Deputy Todd Chilton was the investigating officer.

On May 18, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Seumas B. Fletcher, 46, of Bristol. Fletcher was operating his 1993 Honda Accord eastbound when he failed to negotiate a corner. This caused his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On May 18, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Alan L. McKinnon, 71, of Damariscotta and Marcy R. Tilas, 38, of Wiscasset. Tilas, who was operating her 2008 Honda Pilot, was making a left turn into Mike's Place from Route 1. McKinnon, who was operating his 1994 Kawasaki motorcycle, stated he looked away for a moment and didn't see Tilas slowing. McKinnon attempted to avoid striking Tilas' vehicle, however, was unsuccessful and struck it in the rear. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On May 18, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Whitefield involving Jonathan T. Hoffmann, 33, of Jefferson. Mr. Hoffmann was operating his 2005 BMW northbound when he failed to negotiate a turn and left the roadway on the left side. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.

On May 19, an accident occurred on Water Street in Damariscotta involving Aimee S. Keushguerian, 19, of Damariscotta and Darcy Emerson, 55, of Nobleboro. Keushguerian was attempting to enter Main Street in her 1997 Toyota RAV4 from Water Street with a left hand turn. A Concord Trails bus was parked along Main Street blocking the view. As Keushguerian attempted to enter Main Street, she was met by another vehicle so she backed up, colliding with Emerson's 2006 Ford Escape. Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner was the investigating officer.
