Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

Recent arrests
June 18, Philip M. Harrington, 25, of Wiscasset was arrested on a probation violation, on Fowle Hill Road, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read, who was assisted by Det. Terry Michaud and Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

June 18, Karen D. Harrington, 27, of Wiscasset was arrested on a probation violation, on Fowle Hill Road, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read, who was assisted by Det. Terry Michaud and Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

June 22, Daniel Zehm, 46, of Edgecomb was arrested for operating under the influence, on Mill Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

Recent accidents
On June 19, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Lindsey N. Steiner, 19, of Belgrade and Kenneth E. Benner, 53, of Freeport. Steiner was operating her 2000 Pontiac Sunfire southbound in Newcastle, near Snead Spur, when she pulled to the right and attempted a U-turn. Benner, who was operating a 2005 Mack truck, then struck Steiner's vehicle in the driver's side front. Steiner was injured and transported to Miles Memorial Hospital. Det. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

On June 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Thomas H. Milligan, 66, of Brunswick. Milligan, who was operating his 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, left the intersection of Corey Lane and Back River Road and headed north onto Route 27, when he lost control of his vehicle, driving into a ditch. Deputy Todd Chilton was the investigating officer.

On June 20, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving David Lorrain, 54, of Boothbay. Lorrain was operating his 2004 GMC pickup truck northbound when a deer ran out of a wooded area and struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.

On June 20, an accident occurred on Heron Cove Lane in Bremen involving William R. Moore, 54, of Freedom and Douglas J. Tigert, 75, of Bremen. Moore was traveling southbound in his 1999 Dodge Ram on Heath Road and Tigert was operating his 2010 Honda Odyssey eastbound on Heron Cove Road when both vehicles collided. This road is a dirt camp road with no traffic control devices to say which road has the right of way. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

Recent traffic citations
June 13, Jonathan Ludwick, 58, of East Boothbay, speeding 67 mph in a posted 50 mph speed zone, Rt. 130, Bristol, Deputy Matthew Day.

June 19, Erik Howard, 21, of Wiscasset, imprudent speed, Rt. 218, Alna, Sgt. Daniel Sceviour.

Lindsey Steiner, 19, of Belgrade, changing course of travel when unsafe, Rt. 1, Newcastle, Detective Scott Hayden.

June 20, Lance Willis, 33, of Whitefield, failing to display an inspection sticker, Mills Road, Whitefield, Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

Training attended
Sergeant Jason Nein recently completed a two-day course on Line of Duty Death Funeral and Honor Guard Preparation. The course was hosted by the York County Sheriff's Office in Alfred and instructed by Robert Simmons of the South Portland Fire Department.
