Wiscasset Police Report

Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline reports the following activities:

Arrests and summonses
July 24, Elizabeth Storer, 30, of Newcastle, was summoned for expired inspection.

Corning Townsend, 71, of Edgecomb, was summoned for speeding on Bath Road, 41 in a 25.

Lawrence Janes, 60, of North Conway, N.H., was summoned for speeding on Bath Road, 42 in a 25.

July 25, William Byrnes, 74, of New Harbor, was summoned for expired inspection.

Ryan Linehan, 38, of Westport Island, was summoned for expired inspection and failure to register a motor vehicle.

July 27, David Stinson, 34, of Wiscasset, was issued a criminal summons for operating with license suspended or revoked.

July 28, Kate Bedard, 28, of Wiscasset, was arrested for operating under the influence.

July 30, John Manning, 53, of West Newbury, Mass., was summoned for speeding on Federal Street, 46 in a 25.

Steven Black, 26, of Augusta, was arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief and a warrant for unpaid fines and fees.

Motor vehicle accidents
July 26, Stephen Pitcher, 66, of Boothbay Harbor, was stopped at a stop sign in a 2003 Chevrolet pickup on Gardiner Road when he pulled forward to see traffic and stopped again. Richard Shea, 42, of Monhegan, operating a 2004 Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle, did not see Pitcher stop again and struck Pitcher's vehicle in the rear. There were no injuries.

July 26, David Bliss, 68, of Mohawk, N.Y., was operating a 2013 Honda sport-utility vehicle northbound on Bath Road when he stopped for traffic. Mark Donohoe, 70, of Acton, Mass., operating a 2006 Subaru sport-utility vehicle, was following Bliss and also stopped. Steven Marx, 66, of Tampa, Fla., operating a Volkswagen minivan, struck the rear of Donohoe's vehicle, pushing it into Bliss's vehicle. Marx allegedly stated he may have fallen asleep. Passenger Ina Donohoe, 67, of Acton, Mass., complained of neck pain but was not transported.

July 28, Kate Bedard, 28, of Wiscasset, lost control of her vehicle on Route 144 near Norm's Used Cars and went up on the center island of the intersection with Bath Road, striking several road signs. There were no injuries.

July 29, a 2004 Saab sedan owned by Karen McDorr, 53, of Wiscasset, was parked in a public parking lot on Middle Street when it was involved in a hit and run accident. The suspect vehicle is a white GMC pickup.

July 29, Gregory Foster, 69, of Wiscasset, was operating a 2007 Toyota sedan southbound on Gardiner Road when he attempted to make a left turn in front of a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Ryan Herrick, 25, of Bowdoin, causing a collision. Herrick complained of full-body pain and was transported by Wiscasset Ambulance.
