Damariscotta Police Report

Damariscotta Police Department responded to 155 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, etc. during this one week period of time and reports the following activity:

Arrest
Dec. 23, Officer Ryan Chubbuck arrested Shawn A. Arbogast, 20, of Damariscotta for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Accidents
Dec. 24, Officers Chubbuck and John Sylvester responded to a report of an accident at McDonald's Restaurant. A vehicle hit the over-hang causing damage and left the scene.

Dec. 25, Deputy Chief Chad Andrews responded to U.S. Route 1 on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving Diana C. Phillips, 22, of Camden who was operating a 2001 Saab.

Dec. 26, Officer Devin Polizzotti responded to Miles Street on a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Julietta Spurlock, 61, of Woolwich who was operating a 2011 Nissan and Peter McNaughton, 60, of Newcastle who was operating a 2011 Toyota. Spurlock went through the stop sign at the end of Schooner Street and was attempting to turn left to go towards the hospital. Spurlock came out into the roadway right in front of McNaughton's vehicle causing him to strike the driver's side door of Spurlock's vehicle.

Dec. 26, Officers Chubbuck and Officer Tyson Fait responded to U.S. Route One on a report of a vehicle off the roadway. The operator was Penelope A. Johnston, 73, of Waldoboro who was operating a 2002 Subaru.

Dec. 27, Officer Chubbuck responded to Main Street on a report of a hit and run accident involving Kathleen A. Peavey, 45, of Jefferson who was legally parked in a 2004 Toyota. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed damage to the front left quarter panel. The other vehicle had left the scene.

Complaints
Dec. 23, Officer Jason Warlick and Chubbuck assisted Miles Memorial Hospital with an unruly patient. Deputy Chief Andrews responded to Church Street on a report of a traffic hazard and removed a tree from the roadway.

Dec. 24, Officers Warlick and Sylvester responded to Westview Road, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency. Sylvester conducted a speed detail on Church Street. Deputy Chief Andrews responded to the cemetery on Hodgdon Street on a report of suspicious activity. A family said they were putting a wreath on a gravesite.

Dec. 25, Chief Ron Young responded to a report of a burglar alarm at Hannaford Pharmacy. Officer Polizzotti responded to Main Street on a report of a disabled motor vehicle. The operator had run out of gas and had family on the way. Officer Warlick conducted a pedestrian check on Main Street and gave the subject a ride home. Officers Warlick and Sylvester responded to Pond Circle on a report of a mother and daughter out of control.

Dec. 26, Officer Polizzotti assisted a citizen who had concerns about her parent's safety and responded to Church Street on a report of a parking problem. The owner of the vehicle was warned for obstructing a public way. Officers Ryan Chubbuck and Tyson Fait responded to the municipal parking lot to assist with removal of vehicles for snow removal. Officer Ryan Chubbuck took a theft complaint.

Dec. 28, Officer Polizzotti took possession of a found wallet from a McDonald's employee. He was able to locate the owner and return it. Polizzotti also took a complaint of criminal mischief. Officer Mark Graham responded to Biscay Road on a report of an erratic operation. He was able to locate the vehicle and found that the male operator was looking for his wife who he feared was missing. Graham later responded to Church Street, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

Dec. 29, Officer Michael Elwell responded to Back Meadow Road on a report of a disabled motor vehicle. Officer Chubbuck responded to Alison Lane, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency. Chubbuck also took a complaint of harassment involving text messages, responded to the municipal parking lot to assist with getting vehicles moved for snow removal, and responded to Water Street on a report of a parking problem.

Dec. 30, Chief Ron Young responded to the municipal parking lot on a report of vehicles in the way for snow removal. Two vehicles were removed. Chief Ron Young responded to Church Street due to snow being thrown into the roadway.
