Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

Recent arrests
On Jan. 23, Alexander W. Raye, 36, of Jefferson, was arrested for criminal mischief, on Valley Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

On Jan. 23, John P. Lawson, 21, of South Bristol, was arrested for domestic violence assault - priors, on Louise Lane, South Bristol, by Deputy Aaron Beck.

On Jan. 27, Michael Brewer, 58, of Boothbay, was arrested on a warrant for bail revocation, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.

On Jan. 27, Karen R. McGrath, 48, of Westport, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Lord Road, Westport Island, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.

On Jan. 27, Kody Wallace, 20, of Nobleboro, was arrested on a warrant out of Sagadahoc County for failure to pay fine/unpaid restitution, on School Street, Damariscotta, by Det. Robert McFetridge.

Recent accidents
On Jan. 21, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Norman J. Lheureux Jr., 25, of Cleveland, N.C. Lheureux was operating his 2008 Pontiac G5 southbound and was slowing in traffic. Lheureux stated a vehicle following behind him hit his vehicle in the rear and took off. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Janet J. Stevens, 74, of Damariscotta. Stevens was operating her 2012 Ford Focus westbound and was preparing to stop at the intersection of Sheepscot Road and Route 218, however, she failed to stop at the stop sign and drove down an embankment and struck a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 23, an accident occurred on Timber Lane in Newcastle involving Debra Baughman, 37, of Damariscotta and Shea K. Edgar, 27, of Bath. Baughman was operating her 2003 Hyundai Accent northbound and Edgar was operating his 2002 Dodge Dakota in the opposite direction. Sun glare caused Baughman to lose the ability to see Edgar's vehicle and they made contact. Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 23, an accident occurred on North Newcastle Road in Newcastle involving Audry M. Johnston, 42, of Damariscotta. Johnston was operating her 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound when she lost control of her vehicle, drove off the roadway and struck a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 23, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Newcastle involving Phyllis R. Coggins, 67, of New Harbor, and Nicolas Maragoudakis, 59, of Nobleboro. Coggins was operating her 2002 Ford Escort southbound and Maragoudakis was exiting Route 1, by Louis Doe's Home Center in his 2003 Chevrolet 1500 pickup. Coggins swerved to the right and went off the roadway, where she struck an embankment. Maragoudakis was not in the travel lane of Coggins' vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
