Damariscotta Police Report

Damariscotta Police Chief Ron Young, and the Damariscotta Police Department report the following activity:

Complaints and investigations
On Feb. 11, Deputy Chief Chad Andrews conducted a speed detail on Church Street.

Officer Ryan Chubbuck took a report of a theft.

On Feb. 12, Officer Jason Warlick took a report of lost property; and took a report of possible harassment.

Officer Ryan Chubbuck responded to Main Street on a report of a dog running in the street.

On Feb. 13, Officer Jason Warlick took a call for an attempt to locate a subject; responded, along with CLC Ambulance, to Midden Way on a report of a medical emergency; and responded to Rt. 1 on a report of a disabled motor vehicle.

On Feb. 13, Officer Jason Warlick assisted a citizen with questions they had regarding parking.

Deputy Chief Chad Andrews responded to Main Street on a report of a traffic hazard in which a Central Maine Power Line was hanging down; CMP contacted.

Officer John Sylvester responded to Main Street on a report of a disabled motor vehicle.

On Feb. 14, Officer Jason Warlick responded to a local bank on a report of a burglar alarm. It was a false alarm; and took a report of possible harassment.

Officer John Sylvester responded to the intersection of Rt. 1 and Belvedere Road on a report of a disabled motor vehicle; and conducted a 9-1-1 check on a subject.

On Feb. 15, Officer Mark Graham responded to a report of an erratic operation.

Officer John Sylvester responded to Main Street on a report of an erratic operation; and responded to Main Street, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

On Feb. 16, Officer John Sylvester assisted a citizen with a child custody issue.

On Feb. 17, Officer Devin Polizzotti responded to a local bank on a report of a burglar alarm that was tripped in error; and responded to Reny Road, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

Arrests and summonses
On Feb. 12, Officer Ryan Chubbuck arrested Joshua J. Watkis, 37, of Alna, for being a fugitive from justice and summoned him for operating after suspension.

On Feb. 14, Christopher S. Gove, 18, of Damariscotta, was summoned for operating an uninspected motor vehicle by Officer Jason Warlick.

Accidents
On Feb. 12, Officer Ryan Chubbuck responded to the intersection of Rt. 1 and Belvedere Road on a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Aisha E. Hixon, 25, of Richmond, who was operating a 2003 Pontiac. Hixon was traveling Northbound on Rt. 1. A vehicle was stopped at the light and pulled out from Belvedere Road striking Hixon. The vehicle then left the scene of the accident.

On Feb. 13, Officer Jason Warlick responded to the intersection of High and School streets on a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Nathaniel W. Bryant, 20, of Bristol, who was operating a 2011 Ford and Vincent L. Dodge, 48, of New Harbor, who was operating a 1998 Chevrolet. Bryant was traveling down High Street and attempted to stop at the stop sign. The brakes of his vehicle did not work and he slid into the roadway striking Dodge who was traveling down School Street.

On Feb. 15, Officer John Sylvester responded to the Hannaford parking lot on a report of a minor motor vehicle accident involving Lelia Dyer, of Waldoboro, who was operating a 2005 Ford and another vehicle that left the scene.

On Feb. 18, Deputy Chief Chad Andrews responded to Mediterranean Kitchen on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving David R. Hill, of Chebeague Island, who was operating a 2000 Volvo. Hill struck the building. There was no damage to either the vehicle or the building.

Damariscotta Police Department responded to 135 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, during this one week period of time.
