Waldoboro Police Report

Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde reports Waldoboro officers responded to 243 calls for service in this time period and include the following:

Complaints and investigations
On Feb. 27, Chief William Labombarde is investigating a report of the theft of some money from a residence.

On Feb. 28, Officer Thomas Hoepner is investigating a report of the theft of some items from a residence.

March 5, Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report of receiving harassing phone calls.

March 9, Sergeant Jamie Wilson is investigating a report of property trespassing.

March 10, Officer Thomas Hoepner investigated and resolved a report of an unwanted subject.

Arrests and summonses
On Feb. 26, Officer Thomas Bartunek summoned Bernadine Pozerycki, 46, of Waldoboro for assault and violation of conditional release.

On March 1, Officer Andrew Santheson summoned Thomas Gaudette, 23, of Waldoboro, for failure to show proof of insurance.

On March 1, Officer Andrew Santheson summoned Jessica Parker, 32, of Waldoboro for failure to show proof of insurance.

On March 2, Officer Thomas Hoepner is investigating a criminal mischief report of someone threw eggs at a van.

On March 2, Officer Thomas Hoepner is investigating a report from the Big Apple of a $49 gasoline drive off.

On March 3, Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report from Big Apple of a $50 gasoline drive off. Subject was located and will take care of it.

On March 5, Officer Thomas Bartunek arrested Larry Wellman Jr., 35, of Waldoboro on a warrant.

Accidents
On Feb. 19, Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on Main Street, at 10:45 p.m. Roger Brazier, 70, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck. Mark Blackler, 50, of Jefferson, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck. No injuries. Brazier was traveling east on Main Street when Blackler backed out of a driveway into the path of Brazier causing him to hit Blackler.

On Feb. 19, Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident at the Jefferson and Main streets intersection, at 6:25 p.m. between Joshua Cushman, 20, of Northport, driving a 1996 Buick sedan and Jason Doyle, 37, of Waldoboro, driving a 2000 Toyota sedan. No injuries. Doyle was on Jefferson Street stopped at an intersection. Cushman was attempting to make a right turn off Main Street onto Jefferson Street. Cushman struck Doyle in rear driver's side. Cushman was charged with operating after suspension and failure to display valid inspection sticker.

On Feb. 21, Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 8:45 a.m. Michael Hall, 47, of Bremen, was driving a 2005 GMC pickup truck. No injuries. Hall was traveling north on the Bremen Road when he lost control on snow/slush-covered roadway and left the road on the right side, hitting a fence post.

On Feb. 22, Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 9:26 p.m. Emily Trash-Eaton, 67, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2006 Mazda sedan. No injuries. Eaton was traveling southbound on the Bremen Road and hit an icy patch on the roadway and spun 180- degrees until the vehicle caught the shoulder of the northbound lane. Eaton hit a tree which spun it 90 degrees in between two trees.

On Feb. 28, Officer Thomas Hoepner investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 1 p.m. Curtis Waltz, 50, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2009 Ford sedan. Harold Fossett, 59, of Bristol, was driving a 1994 Ford sedan. No injuries. Waltz and Fossett were both southbound on the Atlantic Highway. Waltz passed Fossett to the left in the passing lane and then pulled inadvertently to the right directly in the path of Fossett. Fossett, to avoid a collision, went off the roadway to the right shoulder into a snow bank and back onto the roadway.

Waltz continued south, not realizing he caused Fossett to go off the roadway. Fossett stopped on the roadside as his vehicle was disabled from being forced off the road.
