A Damariscotta woman who allegedly injected her fiance with a fatal heroin overdose was sentenced to 21 months on a felony drug charge Feb. 13.

Angela L. "Angie" Robbins, aka Angela L. Brochu, 40, formerly of Alna, pleaded guilty to Class C unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs Feb. 13 in Lincoln County Superior Court. She must pay $505 in fines in addition to the prison sentence.

Brochu injected Christopher M. Curtis, 40, of Alna, with heroin on Saturday, April 20, 2013, according to a statement by Detective Terry Michaud of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

Curtis died April 21, 2013. The heroin, with alcohol and prescription drugs, "resulted in Curtis' death," Michaud said in a statement.

Michaud arrested Robbins June 5, 2013. She was on probation at the time of her arrest, according to a jail intake form.

A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Robbins Sept. 11, 2013 for Class B aggravated unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and Class C unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs.

The district attorney's office dismissed the more serious Class B count, which explicitly charged Robbins with furnishing heroin that caused death, as part of a plea deal. She pleaded guilty to the second count, which simply charged her with furnishing the drug.

Robbins is in custody at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham.
