A 39-year-old Alna woman faces felony drug charges after allegedly injecting her 40-year-old fiancé with heroin, contributing, with alcohol and prescription drugs, to his death.

A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Angela L. "Angie" Brochu, a.k.a. Angela L. Robbins, on charges of aggravated unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs Sept. 11.

According to the indictment, Brochu "did intentionally or knowingly furnish ... heroin ... and death was in fact caused by" its use.

Detective Terry Michaud of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office arrested Brochu June 5, according to a jail admission form.

Brochu, on April 20, "injected Christopher Curtis with heroin, which, in culmination (with) alcohol and other drugs, resulted in Curtis' death," Michaud said in an affidavit.

Curtis, also of Alna, died the following day.

The toxicology report revealed the presence of alcohol, heroin and two prescription drugs, "and cause of death is listed as drug- and alcohol-related," Michaud said.

As of Sept. 19, Brochu is in custody at Two Bridges Regional Jail with bail set at $20,000 cash. She is due to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Brochu's attorney, Jeremy Pratt of Pratt & Simmons P.A. in Camden, did not respond to a request for comment.
