Two men and a juvenile male face felony drug charges as the result of a three month investigation of illegal distribution of Oxycodone in Lincoln County, according to a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency press release.

James Chamberlain, 39, of Waldoboro, and Louis Atkinson, 24, of Greene were arrested on Oct. 19 and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, a Class A felony, according to the release. Chamberlain was also charged with violating bail conditions from a prior assault charge.

The arrests were made by drug agents, Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies and Maine State Troopers during the evening of Oct. 19 as Chamberlain and Atkinson were in the process of selling Oxycodone to the juvenile from a parked car along Route 1 in Waldoboro, according to the release. Waldoboro Police Department and the Maine Warden Service assisted.

Seized from Chamberlain's 2003 Chevrolet Impala were a loaded 9mm handgun, $1500 in suspected drug proceeds, and 342 30mg Oxycodone pills with a street value in excess of $15,000, according to the release.

The investigation revealed that Atkinson, a transplant to Greene from New York City, had been bringing the pills from New York to Maine for distribution in Lincoln County, according to the release.

Transported to the Twin Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, Chamberlain was denied bail due to violating his current bail conditions from the pending assault charge. Atkinson's bail was set at $25,000 cash or $100,000 surety, according to the release.

The 17 year-old juvenile, of Waldoboro, was summoned for Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, a Class B Felony.
