Warren Woman Dies in Head-on Accident, Waldoboro and Warren Teenagers in Critical Condition
J.W. Oliver

A Warren woman is dead and a Waldoboro woman and a Warren man are in critical condition after a head-on accident Thursday morning in Warren.

Alison Low, 38, of Warren, died at the scene, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office. Low's passengers, Olivia Blachet, 18, of Waldoboro, and Dustin Kimball, 18, of Warren, are in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Samuel Simmons, 18, of Spruce Head, was driving a silver 1997 GMC Sierra north on Route 1 at approximately 7:30 a.m., while Low was driving a 2003 Subaru Forester south.

"The vehicles collided head-on" at the intersection of Route 1 and Western Road, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Simmons was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center with minor injuries. Simmons was traveling alone.

Knox County Deputy Paul Pinkham is investigating, with assistance from Sgt. Ken Smith, of the Rockland Police Department, and Lt. Michael Murphy, of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

The Warren Fire Department and Warren, Thomaston and Waldoboro emergency medical services responded to the scene.

An earlier edition of this story incorrectly stated which vehicle Kimball and Blachet were traveling in. The Lincoln County News regrets the error.
