Westport Island Mil Rate Reduced
Westport Island taxpayers will get some good news in their tax bills this year: a reduction in their mil rate from $7.75 to $7.51 per $1,000 valuation, which equates to a $24 decrease for every $1,000 valuation.

A Dresden man faces a charge of operating under the influence after crashing his truck in Wiscasset and allegedly registering a 0.17 blood-alcohol level, more than twice the legal limit.
