Beneficial Rainfall is the Only Effect of Earl
Downshifting to a Tropical Storm as it passed through Maine waters and tracking further east than forecast, Earl left no significant damage behind in Lincoln County. In fact, the steady overnight rainfall that was Earl's most obvious effect was badly needed in Lincoln County after a four-day heat wave.

Dresden Puts Tax-Acquired Properties Up For Bid
The Dresden Board of Selectmen agreed to place seven tax-acquired properties up for bid at their bimonthly meeting Aug. 30. All seven properties are vacant.

According to Chair John Rzasa, the properties have been town-owned for several years now. "It's time," said Rzasa.
