A Challenge to Face Racism in Maine
Racism is a difficult topic, especially here in Maine. Despite having one of the nation's smallest non-white populations in America (we're 94 percent white), Maine is not immune to racism. And people of color are more likely to be incarcerated than those who identify themselves as white. A 2015 study by the Muskie School of Public Service found that youths of color and white youths often have vastly different experiences with the juvenile justice system.

Barbaric and Totally Unforgivable
Whenever I see someone ("No apology," May 19) trying to justify the atrocious decision to atomic-bomb an entire city, I feel I must speak up for humanity.
