Harlem Rockets at Medomak Valley

The Coastal Dream Team will take on the Harlem Rockets on Fri., Nov. 15 at Medomak Valley High School. The game starts at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the game benefit Go! Malawi and the Coastal Navigators Special Olympics Team. Go! Malawi is a nonprofit that serves one of the poorest countries in the world. The goal is to raise enough funds to send 48 students to school.

The Harlem Rockets professional comedy basketball team is a family event. The Coastal Dream Team is made up of 20 local volunteers. Daisy Lee, of Friendship, will sing the National Anthem.

The Harlem Rockets will be attending local schools Nov. 15 to spread awareness about the prevention of hate-violence, show off their basketball talents, and present a powerful anti-bullying message.

African carvings will be raffled off as well. Advance tickets to the basketball game are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets at the door are $10 and $12. Advanced tickets are available at the Lincoln Country Store, Warren Community School, Video Plus, Moody's Diner, Medomak Valley High School, Mic Mac Market, Medomak River Trading Post, Hav II, Oceanside East High School, and Friendship Village School.
