Panthers Clip Tigers In OT, Fall To Shipbuilders
Medomak 63 - Gardiner 62 and Morse 45 - Medomak 36

Medomak 63 - Gardiner 62
Medomak Valley boys basketball team clipped the Tigers 63-62 in overtime Dec. 12 in front of a home crowd in Waldoboro. The score went back and forth throughout the exciting contest. Gardiner led 14-10 at the quarter, 25-18 at the half, and Medomak led 43-40 at the end of three.

With a one point lead, Gardiner went to the line with six seconds to play and missed the front half of a one on one. The Panthers came away with the rebound and got the outlet pass to Micah Williamson. The Tigers fouled Williamson, who went to the line and sank his first shot to knot the score and force overtime.

The Panthers outscored Gardiner 7-6 in OT, led by four points from Colton Spear, and a big three-pointer from Nicholas DePatsy. The two teams matched basket for basket. Weston went to the line for Gardiner and made one shot to give the Tigers a one point lead. Spear scored inside on a Williamson pass for the winning basket.

Gardiner got the ball back with eight seconds left, but came up empty.

Scoring for Medomak were DePatsy 19 (10R), Williamson 16 (6A), Spear 11, Zach Little 8 (10R), Zach Starr 6, and Hunter Baughman 1. Scoring for Gardiner were McFarland 18, LaPointe 16, Harnett 10, McKelvey 6, Weston 5, Hallett 4, and Houser 3.

Morse 45 Medomak 36
Morse handed Medomak their first loss of the season Saturday, 45-36 in Bath. The game was close for three quarters, with the two teams locked into a 28-28 tie heading into the final period. The Shipbuilders outscored the Panthers 17-8 in the final period to pull out the nine point win.

Medomak led 8-7 at the quarter, and trailed 16-15 at the half. Paulus and Winglass dominated the boards for Morse.

Scoring for Medomak were Spear 12, DePatsy 7, Starr 5, Hunter Wincapaw 5, Baughman 4, Williamson 4, and Little 1. Scoring for Morse were Paulus 11, Winglass 10, Freeman 6, McDonough 6, Watson 5, Brillard 3, and Moore 3.
