Love Your Library Silent Auction

Time to shed the winter blues and cabin fever and visit the Waldoboro Public Library where over 100 items are available for bidding from Thursday, Jan. 30 to Saturday, Feb. 15 at the library's annual Love Your Library silent auction. This year there is an option to bid anonymously (by number) for those who wish to do so.

Many local items are available this year including a shawl from Village Farm Alpacas, a Maine Float Rope doormat, yarn, knitting books and patterns from Eagle's Nest Yarn; a waterproof jacket from Mid-Coast Marine Supplies; handmade children's sweaters; a handcrafted bench and a handcrafted table.

Also up for auction are family memberships to The Medomak Valley Land Trust, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Owls Head Transportation Museum, and The Sail, Power and Steam Museum, as well as tickets to the Children's Museum in Rockland.

Other items include books, jewelry, a marble pastry board, children's toys and puzzles, four gift certificates to Toys-R-Us, and gift certificates to Spears Farmstand, Moose Crossing, a pie from Moody's Diner and to several local book stores and hair salons.

Also available for auction is a year- long maintenance contract from Maine Coast Energy. There is also a priceless opportunity up for auction- patrons can bid to be a character in one of author David Rosenfelt's upcoming novels!

Come into the library to see these and many more. Proceeds from the auction benefit the operating funds of the Library. This is a great opportunity for everyone to obtain a wonderful item or service and show love and support for the library. For more information please call the Waldoboro Public Library at 832-4484 or visit for some photos and a complete list of the items up for bid.

Come bid early, bid often and bid high.

Library hours are on Mondays and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library is closed Tuesdays and Sundays.
