Waldoboro Library's Soup And Salad Supper

On Saturday, March 23, the trustees of the Waldoboro Public Library will hold a soup and salad supper at the VFW Hall from 4 to 7 p.m. A tray auction which begins March 1 will also be featured at the event.

Fifteen local artists including Jean Kigel, Brooke Pacy, Ken Martin, John Fawcett, Philippe Guillerm, Roberta Goschke, Ralph Bush, Diane Walsh, Jean Christy, Audrey Bechler, Holly Berry, Anne Heywood, John Blamey, Chris Derby and Judy Holliday were invited to participate in the tray auction.

Additionally, Medomak Valley High School art instructor Lois Eastman and her advanced art class of six students - Gerald Harriman, Cody Monroe, Sofie Sawyer, Jade Snider, Samantha Taylor and Angela Gray - also participated.

Each artist was given a small, unfinished tray to sculpt, paint, decoupage - add whatever artistic touches they wished to create. Such amazing and unique trays have been created and donated to the auction.

Beginning March 1, the trays will be displayed at the library and downtown in Waldoboro.

The Community Pharmacy, Mom and Squawk, Village Bakery, Medomak Market, Cumler & Lynch, and the Medomak Valley Land Trust will have trays in their windows on display.

If wishing to bid on any tray, step inside and place a bid with the staff. The culmination of the bidding will be at the supper where all 22 trays will be together for final bidding. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the supper and the auction will benefit the library's operating funds. The First is a generous sponsor of the tray auction. For more information, please visit the library web site or call the library at 832-4484.
