"Amour," this year's Academy Award-winner for Best Foreign Language Film concludes its run Thursday evening, on Friday, the theatre presents the road comedy, "Identity Thief" starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy.

Written and directed by multi-award winning Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke (The Piano Teacher), "Amour" tells the poignant story of Anne and Georges, retired music teachers with a daughter who lives abroad. Life and love are tested when Anne suffers a stroke and Georges must care for her as her life spirals downward. "Amour," (PG13) plays Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m.

Starting Friday, April 12, the theater presents the road comedy "Identity Thief" starring Jason Bateman ("Horrible Bosses") and Melissa McCarthy ("Bridesmaids"). To Diana (McCarthy), money is no object- she buys whatever she wants, using her many lines of credit.

There's only one glitch: the credit belongs to Sandy Bigelow Patterson, an account's rep (Bateman) who lives halfway across the U.S. With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life.

"Identity Thief," (R) plays Friday and Saturday, April and 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m.

These are the final weeks of 35mm film presentations at The Harbor Theatre. Thanks to generous community support, the theatre will convert to digital projection, currently expected to take place by May 3.

The conversion has been mandated by the industry as movie distributors phase out 35mm film later this year. The theatre currently shows films using two classic 35mm carbon-arc projectors.

The theater offers memberships, and gift certificates, available at the box office during scheduled movies. Members receive a $2 discount each time they visit the theater. In addition, businesses sponsoring pre-show screen messages receive free membership. These programs directly support the theater's operations, and keep movies in the Boothbay region off-season.

For more information, visit the theater's Facebook page, The Harbor Theatre, Boothbay Harbor, Maine; the website:, or call the 24 hour "movie phone" 633-0438. The Harbor Theatre is located at the junction of Routes 27 and 96 in Boothbay Harbor, across from Hannaford market.
