Damariscotta's Memorial Day Parade

Wells-Hussey Memorial American Legion Post 42 has confirmed plans and established standards for the annual Memorial Day parade.

The parade begins promptly at 11 a.m., Monday, May 27, at The Lincoln County News parking lot on Route 215, with only those previously registered permitted.

Veteran Stanley Wall has been chosen as the Parade Marshal.

Local organizations are welcome to participate by following restrictions that apply. No political, religious, fundraising, promotion displays, offensive signs, alcohol or fireworks and no throwing of items from vehicles or floats.

Float operators must be over 18 years, fully licensed and insured, and riders on floats must be in secure and safe positions.

Walkers must be a safe distance from moving vehicles and animals must be under control at all times.
