"The Great Gatsby." concludes its engagement Thursday night, May 23 at 7 p.m., and "Star Trek: Into Darkness begins Friday at 7 p.m. at The Harbor Theatre.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan star in "The Great Gatsby," the fourth movie version and the most extravagant and lavish production to date.

On Friday, "Star Trek: Into Darkness" begins, starring John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Peter Weller. It is based on Gene Roddenberry's classic 1960s television show which inspired five additional television series and 12 Star Trek movies.

Popular westerns such as Wagon Train, along with the Horatio Hornblower novels and Gulliver's Travels, inspired Roddenberry when he created the first Star Trek in 1966. It followed the interstellar adventures of James T. Kirk and the crew of exploration vessel Enterprise on a 23rd century five-year mission was "to go where no man has gone before."

In this new version directed by J. J. Abrams, the crew of the Enterprise is called home and encounters a force of terror from within their own organization, which they must fight.

"Star Trek: Into Darkness" plays Friday and Saturday, May 24, 25 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 26 at 3 and 7 p.m.
