At the Lincoln
In partnership with Skidompha Library, The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers present
In partnership with Skidompha Library, The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers present "The Legend of the Banana Kid" at the Lincoln Theater, Saturday July 27 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 adults / $3 children and on sale at the door only.

This week we have great movies, a talk by a former U.S. senator, and a puppet show for the kids. There is something for everyone at the air conditioned Lincoln Theater. If you haven't had the chance to visit us yet this summer, please do, and if you have visited, please come again soon!

'Stories We Tell' (PG-13)
In her quietly moving, intelligent documentary, Canadian actor/director Sarah Polley sat down with relatives and friends and asked them to talk about her mother, Diane Polley, who died in 1990 when Sarah was 11. What she discovered was both a woman who didn't always follow the typical female playbook and secrets that turned her mother's life (and her own) into a surprisingly good mystery. A story for storytellers, the film will have its final showing on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m.

'Before Midnight' (R)
Eighteen years after their encounter on a Vienna-bound train in "Before Sunrise," Celine (Julie Delpy) and Jesse (Ethan Hawke) are vacationing in Greece, nearly a decade into a relationship that has produced twin daughters and a few simmering conflicts.

In the course of an afternoon and evening, they talk, eat, argue and explore, once again, the mysteries of time and the paradoxes of love. Opens Friday, July 26 and plays nightly through Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m., with matinees Sunday and Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers
Everyone's favorite puppet troupe presents "The Legend of the Banana Kid" in which our friend Little Chucky meets a mysterious cowboy who takes him to a remote Western town that is being harassed by a seedy group of outlaws. Chucky, pretending to be a local hero, leads an effort to outsmart the thugs and bring justice back to the town using bananas as his weapon of choice. Presented in partnership with Skidompha Library.

Tickets are $5 adults / $3 children and on sale at the door only. Saturday July 27 at 10 a.m.

Olympia Snowe
The Maine Coast Book Shop & Chats with Champions present former US Sen. Olympia Snow, talking about her new book, "Fighting for Common Ground: How We Can Fix the Stalemate in Congress." This event is free. Reservations are recommended and can be made with an advance purchase of the book (20 percent discount). Call the Maine Coast Book Shop 563-3207 or just drop by the store for more information. Monday July 29 at 4 p.m.
