Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DeNiro, Dianna Agron and John D'Leo star in the black comedy “The Family,” playing this weekend at The Harbor Theatre.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 25 and 26, at 7 p.m., the award-winning independent film, "The Citizen" arrives. Then this weekend, Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer star in the black comedy "The Family," followed by award-winner "Between Us" Oct. 2 and 3 at The Harbor Theatre.

The theater is running independent and award-winning festival films on Wednesdays and Thursdays through October.

This week, a Lebanese man with an American dream wins a Green Card and arrives in NYC a day before the 9/11 attacks in "The Citizen." Inspired by true events, it is a gripping tale of courage, love and perseverance revolving around a Middle Eastern man's dream to become an American citizen and the prejudice and barriers he faces on his journey to attain the American dream.

In "The Family," a mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the witness protection program after snitching on the mob in this black comedy starring Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones, playing this weekend. "The Family" is rated R, and plays Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. and also twice on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 and 7 p.m.

Despite the best efforts of Agent Stansfield (Tommy Lee Jones) to keep them in line, Fred Manzoni (Robert DeNiro), his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer) and their children Belle (Dianna Agron) and Warren (John D'Leo) can not help but revert to old habits and blow their cover by handling their problems the "family" way.

The award-winning "Between Us" plays, on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. with a live Skype question and answer session featuring director Dan Mirvish after the Oct. 3 screening.

Theater memberships, renewals, gift certificates and screen ads help the theater remain open off-season. Further information is available in the lobby, or at: http://www.harbortheatre.net. Members receive $2 ticket discounts each visit to the theater. Businesses sponsoring screen ads (a tax deductible business expense), receive free membership. The theater is also available for parties and special events.
