Sixth Annual Scarecrow Festival

The Wiscasset Parks and Recreation will be hosting their sixth annual Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wiscasset Fire and Municipal Building.

Throughout the day there will be scarecrow making (clothes will be provided or bring some along) and pumpkins will be on sale for pumpkin painting. The Wiscasset Fire Department will host their yearly open house. There will be a "Touch The Truck" event, local cars and trucks and the professionals that drive them will be on hand for children to come down and explore.

The Masons of Wiscasset, Lincoln Lodge #3 will sponsor CHIPS (Child Identification Program) - this program is designed to gather crucial information on children's ages from infant to 16 years for parents' records. The event will also feature a pie sale put on by the Wiscasset Senior Center; face painting; pony cart rides; popcorn, hot dogs and more.

The scarecrow festival is a family fun event and is becoming a wonderful family tradition, which is all made possible by local volunteers.
