"Night of the Living Dead" is playing at The Harbor Theatre Halloween night, complete with a Boothbay connection: local musician Dominic Garvey starred in the 1968 movie and will be on-hand "live" to answer questions after the Oct. 31 7 p.m. screening. "Night of the Living Dead" (rated R) plays Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.

Then the space-thriller "Gravity" will return for a final weekend, with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn following in "Charade" (1963) on Nov. 6 and 7.

Unexpected radiation raises the dead and a microcosm of average America has to battle flesh-eating zombies in George A. Romero's landmark low-budget horror film "Night of The Living Dead." Local musician Dominic Garvey acted in this horror classic in 1968 and he will be at the theatre Thursday night, Oct. 31 to tell stories about the making of the film and to answer questions.

Garvey, now retired, is a mainstay in the Boothbay region, with a 25-year association with the Carousel Theater, as well as with numerous other local productions. Garvey is most frequently seen playing at the Rocktide Inn during the summer months.

This weekend, surviving astronauts from a damaged Space Shuttle mission attempt to return to Earth in "Gravity," directed, co-written, co-produced and co-edited by Alfonso Cuaron ("Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban," "Pan's Labyrinth"). Sandra Bullock, George Clooney and Ed Harris star.

"Gravity" (PG-13) plays Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1, 2 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney).

But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone.

On Nov. 6, 7, the theatre presents "Charade" (1963) stars Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau, and James Coburn. A classic comedy-suspense-adventure, showtime is at 7 p.m.
