Bremen Library Christmas wreaths ready Saturday
No gift is appreciated more than a handmade Maine Christmas wreath from the Bremen Library.
No gift is appreciated more than a handmade Maine Christmas wreath from the Bremen Library.

Thanksgiving is next week and that means it is time for the Bremen Library Christmas Wreath Sale on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Their amazing volunteers have been busy creating beautiful wreaths for days. On Saturday, pick out a favorite wreath at the Bremen Town House from 9 a.m. to noon, on Route 32, with the Bremen Fire Department, or at the holiday craft bazaar at the Y in Damariscotta, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The library's thick double-sided balsam wreaths are made by local ladies with Lincoln county greens.

They are decorated by dozens of their creative elves with pine cones, mussel, clam and oyster shells, holly, rose hips, other greens and natural materials, and more. Some are quite rustic in style, while others are more traditional, some have a sea coast theme, but no two are alike.

The wreaths come with velvet bows in red, burgundy, mauve, colonial blue, white and cream, plus many, many special bows in lots of colors. Prices start at $20 for decorated velvet bow wreaths; (undecorated wreaths with bows only and plain wreaths are also available).

The wreath sale will continue at the town house on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. until they are gone.

If interested in ordering wreaths ahead, or to place special orders, please call the Bremen Public Library at 529-5572; they return all messages and can answer questions.

If interested in sending a wreath to friends or family, they can do that, too. These beautiful Maine wreaths will last through Christmas with good care, make wonderful hostess gifts, and are a gorgeous gift that reminds everyone of Maine. Please come see what lovely wreaths the talented volunteers have designed.
