New Hope for Women Benefit Dinner at Cappy's Chowder House

On Wednesday, Jan. 22 dine at Cappy's Chowder House and Harbor View in Camden and make a difference to the clients of New Hope for Women.

The Cappy's Community Connections fundraising dinner will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. during which time Cappy's will donate up to half of its food sales to restaurant patrons to assist New Hope for Women.

New Hope for Women offers support to people in Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Knox and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. It also provides important educational resources to assist our communities in creating a safer and healthier future.

Services include community and youth education and advocacy, support groups, 24-hour hotline, legal services, emergency safe homes, transitional housing, and Time for Change, a certified batterer intervention program.

In 2013, New Hope for Women served 1138 clients, provided over 3300 hours of direct service as well as 3200 hours of volunteer hotline coverage, 4100 hours of community and youth education, 11 safe home nights to eight individuals, and nearly 2000 hours of education to 76 Time for Change clients.

New Hope for Women representatives will be on hand at the restaurant all evening to answer questions and provide additional information. Cappy's is located at 1 Main St., in Camden.
