"The Grand Budapest Hotel" opens in Boothbay Harbor Wednesday, April 16 for a two-week stay. Also playing Easter weekend, Saturday, April 19, a free screening of "Son of God," presented by The United Methodist Church of Boothbay Cooperative Parish.
Wes Anderson's new comedy-drama "The Grand Budapest Hotel" recounts the adventures of Gustave H., a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.
"The Grand Budapest Hotel" features an all-star cast including Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Tony Revolori.
"Grand Budapest Hotel" (rated R) plays Wednesday, April 16 through Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m., also on Sunday, April 20 at 3 p.m.
Free screening: "Son of God," Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m., is billed as "a major motion picture event." It brings the story of Jesus' life to audiences through compelling cinematic storytelling. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays the role of Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection.
Free tickets are available on a first come, first served basis to the 3 p.m. Saturday screening. The box office opens at 2:30 p.m., so come early to be sure to get tickets and the best seats for this special Easter weekend event.
