Upcoming Event to Highlight Building Progress
The Coastal Christian School expansion project is underway.
The Coastal Christian School expansion project is underway.

Having slept all winter, the foundation for the new Wayne L. Brown Auditorium and Gymnasium is coming alive once again at Coastal Christian School.

Preparing to support a massive building that will house the largest expansion to date, it will soon emerge amidst cranes, trucks and an army of laborers.

As in all of the past expansions of Coastal Christian School, this too is being built completely debt-free. Having already raised over $445,000 in cash, materials and labor, the project is well on its way to completion to the Glory of God.

To celebrate the progress, and raise project awareness, another CCS dinner event will take place on Saturday, April 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the school.

This night promises to be a little different from most past dinners. This dinner will feature student waiters and waitresses at a full sit-down meal. Since this is also a fundraiser, all the tips will also be donated to the building fund. The server with the most tips will receive a prize.

In addition, this dinner will feature some new music as some local people, students and church groups step up to the mic.

The menu will consist of various types of homemade lasagna, along with salads, rolls and or course, lots of yummy desserts. In keeping with tradition, all leftover desserts will be auctioned off to the highest bidder ... (always a lot of laughs).

Ever seen a whole pie sell for $1 or one piece sell for $10? Anyone want to bid $100 for an Oreo? It is for a good cause and a lot of laughs.

A report on the financial progress as well as the blueprints will be available for review along with announcements of other upcoming events.

Coming in May will be the annual spring fling where the different classes raise money for individual class trips and activities in a carnival type venue on the school grounds.

Every Monday morning at 7:30 a.m., Coastal Christian School hosts Muffin Monday to raise money for the gym. Stop in for a great treat and help support a great "debt-free" building effort.

Coastal Christian teachers, parents, students and supporters would like to once again thank the local community for their heartfelt support and generosity towards this project. The investment in these students has proven to produce extraordinary results as many past graduates can testify.

Without the support of the local community, and the blessing of God, this unique educational treasure would not exist. Thank God they enjoy both.

Saturday, April 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at 574 North Nobleboro Rd. in Waldoboro, everyone is cordially invited to attend the best investment (and dinner) money can buy. The cost is only $7 for adults and $3 for students (and kids under 12).

Where else can a family of four go out to eat for $20 while supporting a great cause?

For more information, people are encouraged to contact Dorcelle Brown at 832-4229, or the chairman of the building committee, Pastor Tom Rawley at 446-3288.
