Clifton "Conk" Leeman
Aug. 10, 1933 - Nov. 11, 2013

Clifton "Conk" Leeman, 80, of Whitefield, passed away suddenly on Nov. 11 at his home. Born on Aug. 10, 1933, he was the son of Floyd and Bertha (Sprague) Leeman.

Conk grew up in Round Pond and attended local schools, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and serving honorably during the Korean Conflict.

Upon his honorable discharge, he came home and started working for many different companies. Over the years, he worked at Hunt Brothers Lumber, Hagar Enterprises, North Country Wind Bells and Hussey's Hardware. He also worked for Dick Storer, helped his brother fish, and most recently worked for Midcoast Energy and Country Manor.

Conk loved spending time outdoors, and enjoyed 4-wheeling, canoeing, hunting and spending time at his outdoor fire pit. He was a great dancer and always loved to have a party where he would get to see his extended family. More than anything, he loved spending time with those he cared for and loved, including his little dog Buffie.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Lucille Anderson; and brother, Arnold Leeman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Leeman of Whitefield; daughter, Terry Taillon and husband Michael of Ledgewood, N.J.; brothers, Wallace Leeman and wife Kathy of Round Pond, and Donald K. Leeman and wife Marylin of Round Pond; as well as lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Conk will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., Nov. 17 at the Newcastle-Alna Baptist Church in Alna, with the Rev. Richard Newell officiating.
