Jeane Emily Ward
June 9, 1924 - Dec. 3, 2013

Jeane Emily Ward, 89, passed away peacefully at Windward Gardens in Camden on Dec. 3. She was born to Ralph Boright and Hildred Brodbeck in Ponca City, Okla. on June 9, 1924.

Jeane grew up in Ponca City and attended Ponca City High School, where she graduated in 1942. After graduating, she married Valton G. Ward. She was a homemaker, raising her son, Ronald, and then had several jobs over the years after her husband Val passed away: she worked as a grocery store meat cutter, a motel receptionist and a night clerk.

In her spare time, Jeane enjoyed being at home watching TV and completing word searches. She loved children and was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved listening to music. In her younger years, Jeane liked to spend her free time bowling.

Before she moved to Windward Gardens in 2011, she lived at the Lincoln Home in Newcastle for almost two years.

Jeane was predeceased by her parents, and husband of 25 years.

She is survived by son, Ronald Ward and wife Charlene of Nobleboro; grandchildren Jeffrey Ward and wife Lynsey of Nobleboro, Kimberly Libby and husband Jared of Jefferson, Michael Ward and wife Lindsey of Nobleboro, Captain Gregory Ward and wife Kristyna Wardova of Newport News, Va., and Jennifer Gregory and husband Derek of Nobleboro; and great-grandchildren, Maddie and Josh Ward, Paige Libby, Grace, Claire and Gabriele Ward, Abi, Izi and Obi Wardova, Adayla Gregory, and two more on the way.
