Bruce A. Delano
Oct. 6, 1952 - July 1, 2014

Bruce A. Delano, 61, of Bath, died July 1 at his residence.

He was born in Bath on Oct. 6, 1952, a son of Merwin A. and Jean L. (Miller) Delano. He graduated from Vallejo High School in California and later moved to Bath. He was self employed in the construction field for most of his life. He was employed at Rogers Hardware in Bath for many years.

He was a member of the Bath Lodge of Elks, and the Sons of the American Legion in Topsham and he served as State Commander of the Son's of the American Legion. Bruce also volunteered at Togus Hospital for many years.

Bruce enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing pool and gardening.

Bruce had land in Wiscasset where he cut wood for many years. He also did side jobs in the Wiscasset area for over 20 years.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Dawn S. Dreyer of Bath; son, Merwin A. Delano and wife Jennifer of Rochester, N.H.; sisters, Judith A. Frees of California, Jane M. Burdick and husband James of California, Joanne Turner and husband James of California, and Mary-Lou Thomas and husband Robert of North Carolina; brother, Joseph "Tom" Mitchell and longtime companion Carolyn of California; grandchildren, Addison B. Delano, and Jack R. Delano; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m., Thurs., July 17 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. Burial will follow in Oak Cemetery in Georgetown.
