Julie Page Burnheimer
Oct. 13, 1955 - Aug. 26, 2014

Julie Page Burnheimer, 58, of Gorham, passed away at her home on Aug. 26 surrounded by her family after a yearlong battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on Oct. 13, 1955 in Damariscotta, the third of four children to Cleveland A. and Elizabeth Lincoln Page.

Julie was employed for the past 35 years for the investment department at UNUM.

Julie lived for her family and always looked forward to the family gatherings throughout the year. Making sure the kids' wishes were fulfilled was her ultimate joy and she was looking forward to watching her grandchildren grow up as well. Her favorite spot in the world was the camp on Marsh Island off of Round Pond which she shared with her three brothers and their families. She particularly enjoyed the annual family gatherings on the island over the Fourth of July and the summer evening whist games at the camp table with her husband, Scott and brother, Phil and his wife, Gail.

Julie also loved the Red Sox and high school sports. For the last nearly 20 years, she had a special spot in the high school gym where she and friends sat behind the scorer's table at the Gorham High basketball games. In 1996, she was recognized by the Maine Recreation Association for her community volunteer efforts. In the spring of this year she was elected to the Gorham High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a contributor.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Scott V. Burnheimer with whom she settled in Gorham in 1985; children, Ryan S. and wife Janelle of Macedonia, Ohio, Erik K. of Gorham, John A. of Boston, and Sara P. of Gorham; grandchildren, Chase and Derek Burnheimer of Macedonia; mother, Elizabeth of Union; brothers, Lincoln of Union, Philip and wife Gail of Nobleboro, and Bradley and wife Darcy of Texas; numerous nephews; and a niece.

A gathering of friends will be observed from 5-7 p.m., Fri., Aug. 29 at the Dolby & Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State St., Gorham. Services will be held 11 a.m., Sat., Aug. 30 at the First Parish Congregational Church, School St., Gorham. Burial will be in the Eastern Cemetery, Gorham.
